Spring 2026 Pre-Professional Advising Office Communications & Social Media Internship

The Pre-Professional Advising Office (PPAO) is seeking a student with experience or a strong interest in social media, communications, marketing, and outreach. The intern will collaborate with the PPAO Coordinator to develop engaging content such as reels, advertisements, videos, and surveys targeted toward pre-health and pre-law students. Additional responsibilities include supporting the production of the Pre-Professional Playbook podcast, helping to establish and manage a LinkedIn presence, and assisting with website design and updates.

Internship Overview

This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to enhance the PPAO’s visibility on campus and online. You will collaborate with team members to implement creative marketing initiatives, gaining valuable experience in communications, social media, podcasting, and website design. 

Students commit to work 9 hours per week (on average) and must register for FCID 4100 Humanities Internship (3 credits) Spring 2026. This course satisfies the Experiential Learning requirement and is designed to reinforce and practice the soft skills learned in the humanities classroom, to offer practical experience, on-the-job training, and exploration of career opportunities in various fields. Graded S/U. The course meets just 4 times in the semester; students complete 2 reflection papers and an Internship Portfolio. 

Roles & Responsibilities

Social Media Management: Help develop and manage content, with an emphasis on creating a LinkedIn account and improving our Instagram presence.

Content Creation: Create captivating reels, ads, and videos to promote advising services on Instagram. Formulate strategies to boost social media engagement.

Podcast Production Support: Assist with podcast scriptwriting and audio editing using Adobe Audition to enhance production quality and storytelling.

Outreach Initiatives: Conduct surveys to gather student feedback for future marketing strategies.

Website Design: Assist with website updates to enhance the PPAO’s online presence.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates should have experience in social media communications, marketing, or outreach, along with a willingness to learn Adobe Audition/editing programs and digital marketing strategies. Creativity and strong collaboration skills are essential, along with familiarity with podcasts, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Proactively utilizing campus resources related to marketing will enrich the internship experience.
